Life changing salsa

Find below the recipe for the most amazing salsa you'll ever have. Seriously, it changed the way I think about food. Make it today and send Cindy your thanks.
1 can Black Beans
1 can sweet corn
2 Avocados (cut into bite size pieces)
3 tomatoes
3 green onions
hand full of cilantro
1/2 cup Italian Dressing
2 Tbl Ranch Dressing
Combine beans, corn, avocado. In a food processor blend cilantro and onions, add the tomatoes and pulse til chopped but not liquid. Add to bean mix, then mix in the Italian Dressing and Ranch. Season to taste with salt/garlic salt.

For Kim, Tara and Tiffany

Remember how we talked about making blogs into books? I saw a Blurb book in real life and it was cool. My friend said they were super user friendly and allowed a lot of customization but not so much that it was overwhelming. You can find them here:

Blog spotlight #3 - nienie
I've hesitated to spotlight anyone that fills their blog with personal stories about their kids, husband, dog, etc simply because my blog stalking seems like enough of an infringement on their life. Also, I'd hate my spotlight to be the cause of a great blog going private - I don't *think* my readers are psychos so no one should be nervous that I'm referring dozens of people to their blog. Really they should think of the additional traffic as getting them one step closer to being able to make money off of their day to day musings.

Anyway, that being said, today I am spotlighting a blog that is all about one woman's family life. nienie is on of my must reads - I read every new post right away even if I don't have time to check on the people I know in real life. Her writing style is charming, her pictures darling and her commentary on life I find hilarious. Take some time to get to know her, Mr. Nielson, Gigs and the rest of her crew, I'm sure you'll like them as much as I do.

Bumble and Bumble Styling Creme

A girl who cut my hair a couple of months ago recommended Bumble and Bumble Styling Creme to help when I wear my hair curly. I didn't find it particularly helpful then (I think my hair is too fine), but I now use it every day to give my hair a little extra encouragement to be cute. It's not like mousse, gel, pomade or anything I've ever used, it really is a creme, but I love that I can't feel it in my hair, it holds up well in humidity and like I said, just encourages my hair to do what's right. In Provo you can buy it at Stuart Fraser or Von Curtis the Salon, or you can also find it on Amazon.

I'm getting a warm stone massage at Sundance in July and it's all I can think about. I love massages and I love warm stones as part of a pedicure...I think this combo is right for me.

Smashbox Photo Finish Color Correcting Foundation Primer - Adjust

Smashbox has created a near perfect solution to blotchiness. I've noticed the Adjust primer (the green one) at Sephora a couple of times but figured it was a gimmick so I never tried it. When I was in Vegas a couple of weeks ago I tried it on the back of my hand and the redness really did go away so I bought a bottle - and now I'm a true believer. They have several primers that address many issues (dark circles, yellow skin, oiliness, etc) so check them out and see if there's one that works for you. If you don't have a Sephora (or any other Smashbox retailer) near you, you can buy them here.

Mint water

Stephanie introduced me to the deliciousness of mint water a year or two ago while I was visiting Seattle and I fell in love. I've casually looked for it here and a couple of weeks ago I found it at Macy's. I had my part-time assistant (Toddy, for those of you that care) buy some for my fridge at work and it was quickly stolen by thirsty co-workers. Todd has now fully stocked my fridge so everyone can enjoy the minty goodness. If they don't sell it in your town you can buy it here but if you do happen to see it on your grocer's shelf I highly recommend purchasing it. If you live in Provo stop by my office anytime for a drink.

Darci has a sore bum

Anyone know a good diaper rash treatment? Tara's baby has a sore bum and nothing seems to be working...

Isn't it nice when your friends have blogs?

The only thing in the blogging world that MAY be better than people commenting on my posts is finding out that my friends have blogs! Tara and Mandi, I'm glad you found me!

I love America

I just watched Hilary Clinton's concession speech with tears in my eyes. I don't agree with everything she stands for but I'm proud that a female candidate made it so far in the race. She pointed out that there are women who were alive when women did not have the right to vote and have lived long enough to see a woman have a fighting chance at being president. It makes me proud that as a country we've evolved within a lifetime from not valuing the opinion of women to believing that one woman might be the right person to run America. I can't help but smile today.

P.S. If you're wondering where I've been, just know that I've been traveling and will give a full report of my wandering soon.
