It was an itsy bitsy, teenie weenie...

For Sydney's birthday I got her a cute little bikini - her first one! It is SO cute on her, I can't wait to see her running around at the pool in it.
After the bulk of the party goers left Syd and I had a mini photo shoot.
This is my favorite one...gosh I LOVE this girl.
*If you're interested you can buy it here...and it's even on sale now!

If you're bored...

...you should try this typing test - it kept me entertained on and off all afternoon! Per Wikipedia the average person types 33 words per minute, I typed 81 words per minute!

Happy birthday Syd, I love you!
These folks just get better and better...now they're helping us to celebrate the first day of spring. What a great thing to celebrate!

I love Google because they remind us to celebrate.

Follow up

As a follow up to my post about my bed, find below my follow up to your questions/comments. I'm not sure what blog etiquette dictates related to responding to comments, so I decided to formalize the process for these responses.

All - You should be jealous of my bed. If I know you in real life (all you folks that work at APX but never comment, I don't mean you -"real life" means we've hung out outside of work) I invite you to come try it. I more than likely will not join you in this adventure as I prefer to be alone in my bed.

Es - You are welcome any time. We've shared a bed more times than I could count, why stop now?

Jennie - You and Moses need a bigger bed STAT. You're on the smaller end as people go, but still, a double?

Dally - Nothing will ever top the time I spent in your bed. Truly memorable.

Cindy - All of my current bedding is from Ikea and as of a few weeks ago they still have it.

Livie - I think "laying in Wonder bread" is the best description of my bed ever - I'm going to start using it.

My throat hurts

My throat hurts and Airborne just lost a lawsuit; I'm not sure what to do with myself. As you all may recall, I love Airborne. Even if it is a glorified vitamin supplement, I feel better when I take it. In fact, if it is JUST a vitamin supplement I'm going to start drinking it every day. Then maybe my throat will never hurt again.

One of my favorite things

I have always loved being in my bed, even when it was chosen by BYU or had been slept in by countless college students (or both). When I was grown up enough to buy my own bed I was excited to decide firmness, frame style, etc. I really like the way it turned out and I love, love, love every moment I spend in it. Most Saturday mornings are spent lounging in my bed; these are some of my favorite moments of the week. Wouldn't YOU want to lounge in this?

I hate the internet

I have been trying for ONE HOUR to add a picture to a post. Every time the little box tells me that my image is being added but it never actually happens. I am grateful for the many, many blessings it brings to my life but right now the internet makes me want to swear. Someone call Al Gore and tell him his invention bites.

Are you wondering?

Are you wondering about the yellow cardigan I'm wearing in my last post? You should be because it's CUTE. It's at Banana Republic right now and has fast become one of my favorite recent purchases.

Curly hair

On Sunday I curled my hair and it turned out exceptionally well. Who knew that a curling iron could do so much good?

Treadmills should be built by 2 people

I recently purchased a treadmill and put it together by myself, contrary to the advice given in the instructions. As Alicia said, my "hardcoreness is trumped only by [my] stubbornness." I survived the experience but came out with a few bruises. Note: that is obviously not me giving the treadmill its first try...I was too tired and sore.

Rascal Flatts

On Friday I got to go see Rascal Flatts, courtesy of my boss who was not using his tickets. I took Esther, Robby and Mary and we had a great time!

Validation

It may be cool when you see something you own on a stylish person's blog, but it's even better when the thing you own is on Oprah...and Stacey London is recommending it!

For Olivia

Did you see this? And did you nearly die when you first laid eyes on it? Because I did. It's perfect. Sigh.

Kaden does actually like me

Kaden is Erika and Nick's youngest child. He's almost 2, very smart and absolutely adorable. While I was in Iowa I was not Kaden's favorite person; when I would go near him he would say "no, no, no, no, no" and pull away. I'm oftentimes popular with small children so his reaction was a little strange but I just assumed he either A) was feeling the terrible 2 or B) just didn't like me very much. We took this cute picture together the night before I left and since it's the only real picture I took while in Iowa I'm grateful he didn't choose this moment to remember that I'm not his favorite person. Today Erika googlechatted (yes, it's a verb) me and said that from time to time Kaden asks where I am. Guess I made a good impression after all.

I LOVE Baklava

When my mom was pregnant she craved baklava which she says explains my love of the Greek treat. Today we had a visitor who brought boxes and boxes of yummy pastries from a California bakery, mostly baklava, so I was in HEAVEN!

The Dally Llama

Today is Dallas' birthday. I love Dallas because:
-he is obsessed with the tan lines on his feet
-he loves Africa
-he's in law school
-he goes on road trips with Jeremiah that often involve hunting innocent animals
-he plays "violent" games with me
-he's genuinely interested in my life
-he tells LOTS of stories about fish
-he loves B-Money
-he likes gross body stories
-he likes my back scratches
-he calls me to hang out...but only when I'm in Idaho
-he loves outdoor adventures but never expects me to join in on them
-he reads my blog AND comments

Happy Birthday Dally, I love you!

Something I don't like seeing on my work computer:

Peeps are delicious

Peeps are hands down my favorite candy. I found this on Heather's blog - how fun!

What do you think?

Article in the Washington Post today entitled "We Scream, We Swoon. How Dumb Can We Get?" I'll hold off on my comments until I hear from all of you.

Problem solved

About a year ago I made it my goal to solve the beauty problems that have plagued me for as long as I can remember. One thing that irritates me almost daily is creased eyeshadow. Any girl with even slightly oily skin and a crease in their eyelids knows exactly what I'm talking about...it's infuriating to have cute makeup that's ruined halfway through the day. The solution? Paint Pots from MAC. I have Bare Study and Painterly and love both; I use them as a base for my eyeshadow and find that I never have a crease and my makeup stays more vibrant all day.

My new reads

I'm starting 2 new books this week, A New Earth and Atlas Shrugged. Both have been recommended by people I trust, Oprah among them, and will supposedly change my life and the way I think. I'm excited to get to know the new, post book, me.

Spring-y shoes

I bought these cute spring shoes today...I am so excited for sunny weather and capris. They aren't available online, but they do have other cute patterns here.

Betsey Johnson

Today I bought new perfume, I was in the mood given the beautiful weather we have been blessed with recently. The perfume lady at Nordstrom spent lots of time helping me sample the latest and greatest flavors and I finally settled on Betsey Johnson.

Brian and Sarah Haynie

On Friday my lovely roommate, Sarah, married my good friend Brian in the Salt Lake temple. Here are a few pictures from the day's festivities.
